Well Bertgold is an russian mod based on the engine from HDD made by Uncle Vadim. There are already two versions out from Bertgold, one older one and one newer one witch features some bugfixing and some new maps. In the game you play like in HDD an squad based Team, this time not the SAS, instead of them you play now some russian soilders, witch have to deal in arround 13 pretty big maps against the germans. The difficuly settings are very hard even on the lowest settings so that many saves in singleplayer are a must, or in coop many frustrations are normal. The game itslef uses many models sounds and textures from other games like MohAA RTCW, Mafia, Mortyr2 and H&D2. However the missions are the best ever seen by an user as an nonprofit game. Well there are still some russian shops selling the cd for some euros but they are just selling the old version 1.0. The newer versions with more missions are avaivable as Bertgold V1.1 and Bertgold 1.2. Well they are only avaivable in ther german language but there might be a language patch for the english users. If you want to build it by yourself or if you want to know what you have to do you can take a look here to get some first infos. Like the original HDD Bertgold features the coop gameplay, but as already said cause of the high difficulty settings it can run pretty quick in an frustration. However it is worth to have an closer look at it, oh and be warned ... the PC specs should be much higher as on the original HDD (arround 3ghz CPU). So here are some impressions from the game.

Oh if you try Bertgold you should deinstall HDD at the time when you play it cause both games uses the same registry settings and if one is installed the other will not work, or you can try to use Bertgold Registry Patch (a patch I never got to work)
