love for Spanish:
I started studying Spanish in the ninth grade. I loved it from day one. I studied it for four years in high school and then took the AP test. I passed the AP receiving four college credits and placed in Junior level classes. For my first three years of college I attended the University of Michigan-Flint. Then, in September of 1991 I decided to take a missionary trip to Guatemala. I stayed there for three months and that was not long enough! It was an experience I will never forget. Also, during that trip I was able to visit El Salvador and Mexico City. I returned to the United States and transferred to Eastern Michigan University. I had to retake some Spanish classes for Eastern if I wanted to receive my degree there. This was tedious, but also helped my Spanish immensely. In August of 1995 I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Spanish and minoring in History. Also in August of 1995 I was hired at Meadville High School in Meadville, MI as a Spanish teacher. In April of 1998 I was able to travel with a group of students to Spain. Click here to see pictures of this trip. In April of 2000 a group of 28 students and 4 teachers went to Spain and France. It was a wonderful trip. Pictures and memories soon! |

My Hobbies: I enjoy: any event with my church or church organization; reading; being with friends; web design and almost anything with computer graphic design; and TRAVELING!
Spanish A-level: Trawling through the net, I have found hardly any Spanish A-level help or advice. On this site, there are lots of useful tips and advice on how to get a good grade, as well as some quotes for Spanish literature and model essays. My examining board was AEB so some of this site may not apply to you. However, I have tried to keep my advice general so you should benefit from this anyway. The same applies to students who are doing AS level - you should take heed of all the advice on the oral, listening and some of the writing. You can also e-mail me to tell me what you thought of this site or any queries you might have about the exam paper. (Remember, I'm not an expert but I've done the A-level and have a pretty good idea of what the examiners are looking for - I'll try to find out the answer as best I can!) Just click on a heading for help in that area. |
