The TAMA TS-305 drum synthesizer after the midification with Paul Maddox's MIDI2SDS interface.
The MIDI learn button and MIDI trigger LED that also helps you in the learn mode.
The MIDI-IN connector on the back of the TS-305 -
the MIDI2SDS board sits just behind this connector (fixed with the two screws).

A look into the TS-305 shows the MIDI2SDS-interface in front and then the voice boards,
the mixer board and the power supply.

The MIDI2SDS board in detail...

The details on the necessary changes on the basic voice board.
The changes are similar on the rimshot board but the cut goes vertical not horizontal...

Schematic of what you have to do on each voice board:
Cut the connection from the switched pin on each pad input connector to ground
and solder a 120kohms resistor from the MIDI2SDS output to this connector pin.
The 120kohms value gave me the best results regarding the veloctiy response...

User Manual
I am looking for the user manual of this drum synthesizer. If you have the manual scan it and send it to me. In wxchange I will make a PDF out of the scans and send it back to you.

Paul Maddox MIDI2SDS (version I) interface page - be sure to check also the MIDI2SDS II page !
As I had to order 3 PCBs from the PCB service I still have two PCBs of version I here. If you want one please let me know! Paul Maddox can still deliver the programmed chips for this version!
